We need to pray for our departed loved ones as regularly as possible.

There are four 'Saturdays of Souls' on which we are asked to remember all members of our family and our friends who have departed this world - three before Easter and one after Easter.

The dates in 2026 are 14 February, 21 February, 28 February, and 30 May.

During the service, plates of boiled wheat (kollyva) are placed at the designated tables, a candle is lit on the kollyva and the names of the departed will be read out by the Priest and prayed for.
